The Nursery at Overstone Combined School is a nursery provision for 3 and 4 year old children, which opened in April 2021. Run by Overstone Combined School, the Nursery Manager works in partnership with the school’s Early Years Foundation Stage Leader to provide an exciting, stimulating indoor and outdoor environment for children to thrive and develop.
Our staff are caring, friendly and highly experienced in working with Early Years children in a range of settings. Our Nursery is managed with the same policies and procedures as Overstone Combined School, including Safeguarding, First Aid, SEND and Behaviour Management. We are able to offer the same excellent practice as recognised by OFSTED across the age range from 3 years to 11 years.
The curriculum has been developed using the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum Framework to ensure that children have a diverse range of fun, enriching experiences and are nurtured and cared for in a family environment.
The Nursery at Overstone Combined School is a Governor-led community provision.

The Nursery at Overstone accepts both private and funded children. All 3 and 4 year old children in England are entitled to Government funding from the start of the term following their 3rd birthday. All children are entitled to 570 hours free child care or early education per year, which equates to 15 hours per week, for 38 weeks each year. This can be taken as five 3 hour sessions, vacancies permitting. Two sessions can be taken on the same day at the discretion of the Headteacher and if spaces permit. Some 3 and 4-year old children will be eligible for 30 hours free early education.
The Nursery at Overstone will accept most major Childcare Vouchers or payment through the Government Tax-Free ChildCare scheme. Please enquire with the School Office for further details.
The Nursery @ Overstone is for children aged 3 or 4. Children may be registered to start at the Nursery from the day they turn 3 years old. Please note that the 15 hours (or 30 hours, if eligible) of funded early years education only applies from the term after the child turns 3.
